We're official!

Last night I received a phone call from a very kind man named Don who works for ABC, and we did a short phone interview.
Tonight I received a text message (during Dr. Miller's British Romantics class--this is a shout-out to him because I checked my phone in his class which is against all the rules) from Mrs. Jan who is clearly the awesomest person at ABC and she informed me that we have full board approval and will be receiving letters in the mail within a few days.
Which means..............

I'M GOING TO AFRICA!!!!!
I mean, we've known that for a while, but this makes it 100% officially okay and wonderful and yay!!!!!!
So, I'm about to work on my support letter and hopefully soon I will get all sorts of wonderful information out to you guys in real life (as opposed to fake internet life).

updates

Well, applications have been finished, and Aly and I are beginning to realize just how real this Africa thing is. Pretty crazy!
So here's what we know (which is always subject to change, mind you):
I will be teaching 7-10th grade language arts (English, but not as a second language) at the Academy.  There is a chance I will be teaching second semester Greek to students at the college, but we're all hoping that doesn't play out. I just don't feel quite prepared for that!  But I know that God will enable me to meet that need if I must.  I will probable be helping with the Academy band/orchestra, and I am hoping to talk to folks with Project Peanut Butter soon and see if there's a way I can be involved with them in Malawi.
Aly will most likely be teaching kindergarten, but I won't give you all the details there.  Check her story out at Aly in Malawi. That's just fun to say. Aly in Malawi. 
Anyway...I am ecstatic about all of this.  We should be board approved within a week (we had some confusion with that, but it's all better now) so we can start things like finding a plan ticket and sending support letters.  In the mean time we are trying to keep up with classes and work and are discovering just how many shots have to happen before we can get on a plane and fly away. Ah!


I have more fun things to tell, but my computer is dying, so I'll have to get back to this later.  More to come on my joy at having a calling and the great times I'm having teaching IEP here at MC.
